Read Romans 12: 9-20

  1. Paul urges us to have a sincere faith, not a hypercritical faith. We all practice a measure of hypocrisy – can you identify areas in your personal life that should be eradicated?  How would this impact your life?
  2. In this passage we are commanded to be devoted to one another in love and to honour one another above ourselves. How does this look practically in our own lives and the church? What are some tangible things that we could do better?
  3. Our society encourages us to ‘want the bad guys to get what is coming to them’. Do you want revenge on those who harm you or others? Jesus’s teachings are the exact opposite (Matthew 5: 43-44). As a group, examine and discuss your own heart towards those who wrong you. Talk about your struggles and how can you align your heart so that you are not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good?
