Sermons on Parables
Martin closed out the series in the evening looking at the unprofitable servant. A rather challenging Parable that pushes us towards Jesus with a servants heart and a posture of humility.
Sunday Morning Pastor Duncan spoke on the Shrewd Manager a parable that often has a great deal of conjecture and debate over its meaning. We looked at what it means to steward well the time, talent and treasure that God has given us. The passage we looked at is Luke 16:1-13
Duncan spoke in the evening on the Friend at Midnight and this was Part 2 of his message on Persistent Prayer. Looking at what should our prayer life reflect vs. what is it really like.
In the Morning we had the pleasure of having Peter Carblis share on the parable of the Minas and the Talents. Looking at how we use that treasure that is the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Duncan spoke in the evening on the Wedding Feast. A parable from Matthew 22, it was a reminder that the parable is a proclamation of the Good News of Jesus Christ. That we should be challenging ourselves to release the truth of Jesus and allow it to speak for itself. It is one of the truly wonderful moments of faith sharing the Gospel and seeing lives changed.
Pastor Paul gave a challenging address to ‘live salty’ and seek the hearts of the Lost with the message of Jesus. At our morning service he challenged us to be proactive to share Jesus with people. This message also features the testimony of Steve Dicker and inspiration for seeking the hearts of the lost.
In the 5pm Service Duncan spoke on the Rich Fool. What if we were wealthy? What if we had built big barns? What if we had hoped for an abundance of possessions? Is God demanding our lives of us today?
Sunday Morning at 10am and Mal gave a powerful message on the Great Banquet. Not only looking and the history of the moment but also explaining the powerful significance for us today.
