Acts of the Apostles
The book of Acts tells the story of believers of “The Way” who, empowered and guided by the Holy Spirit, bear witness to the message of salvation in Jesus Christ. These apostles endure beatings, imprisonments, stoning and death. Yet despite such strong opposition to the gospel and persecution of its messengers, the church was established and grew like wildfire; spreading locally and then continuing to the ends of the earth. The church did not grow through its own power or initiative, but through the power of the Holy Spirit and the commitment of these first believers who would risk all for God’s message to be heard.
